Kung Fu Master Po Ping is the adopted son of Mr. Ping and the biological son of Li Shan and his wife, as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is also the foretold Dragon Warrior of legend, and a master of the panda style of kung fu.
His life story is pretty much similar to that of his mainstream franchise counterpart's Originally born in a farming village to his birth parents, Po was separated from his family as a result of a massacre instigated by Lord Shen. He was eventually found by Mr. Ping, who adopted him, hoping for Po to inherit the family noodle shop, sometime in the future. However, Po was drawn to kung fu, and his unwavering enthusiasm led him to be chosen as the Dragon Warrior, after which he began training under Master Shifu. Though he was clumsy and unacceptable, at first, Po persevered and fulfilled the destiny of the Dragon Warrior by defeating Tai Lung and discerning the Dragon Scroll, proving himself as a hero to everyone, including himself.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Po's early life was pretty much the same as his franchise counterpart's, where he was born as "Li Lotus" in a remote farming village populated entirely by pandas. There, Lotus grew up happily with his biological father Li Shan and his mother, until one day the village was invaded by the evil, power-hungry peacock named Shen, who sought to avert a prophecy by eliminating any threat to his future rule.
As a last resort to protecting her child, Lotus's mother hid him in a crate of radishes. They shared an emotional goodbye, before she was tragically killed by Shen and his wolf army. The crate Lotus was in was eventually shipped far away to the Valley of Peace, where the owner of a noodle shop, Mr. Ping, found the baby panda, who had eaten the radishes. Though reluctant to take him in at first, Mr. Ping, upon realizing that no one was looking for him, eventually took him in giving him the name "Xiao Po" and raising him as his own son.

Like his franchise counterpart, Po is an overweight black and white panda, with the black part of his fur having brown highlights, and the white part having grayish-tan highlights.

Like his franchise counterpart, Po doesn't wear any upper-garments, but does wear a pair of tan burlap pants with a red and yellow striped portion above them, and wears white gauze wraps around his ankles. Unlike his franchise counterpart, however, he lacks the sandals resembling panda toes, and panda paws on the bottom, as he is barefooted.

Original appearance[]
Po the Panda, also known his given name, Ping Xiao Po, and as Li Lotus via birthright, was created by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris as both the title character and primary protagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise, primarily voiced by Jack Black in the film saga and Mick Wingert. He is an anthropomorphic giant panda who is improbably chosen as the champion of the Valley of Peace in the first film, which was released on June 6th, 2008, where he made his debut appearance.
Po is the prophesied Dragon Warrior or Dragon Master, as well as the Warrior of Black and White. He is the adoptive son of Mr. Ping (a Chinese goose) and is one of Master Shifu's students. Po is also the team leader of the Furious Five, although he is not properly part of it as he is considered as a second master after Shifu to the Furious Five. In Legends of Awesomeness, Po is revealed to have the ability to learn kung fu at a glance.
